The precedent for all neo and freak folk, the trees community were an avant-garde and apocalyptic Christian troupe. Living communally in an abandoned apartment in New York City in the 70’s, they made one of the most remarkable albums I’ve graced my ears with. Greatly unheard of and under-appreciated, artists such as David Tibet and Tim (Delaughter?) have praised this album as one of the best, and it is. This album is certainly one of my desert Island discs, raw and uncompromising, its wholly original and wholly entertaining.
